چکیده

A combination of finite energy sum rule techniques and Chiral Perturbation Theory (χPT) is used in order to exploit recent ALEPH data on the non-strange τ vector (V ) and axial-vector (A) spectral functions with respect to an experimental determination of the χPT quantity L10. A constrained fit of R (k,l) τ,V−A inverse moments (l < 0) and positive spectral moments (l ≥ 0) adjusts simultaneously L10 and the nonperturbative power terms of the Operator Product Expansion. We give explicit formulae for the first k = 0, 1 and l = −1,−2 strange and non-strange inverse moment chiral sum rules to one-loop order generalized χPT. Our final result reads L10(Mρ) = −(5.13 ± 0.19) × 10−3, where the error includes experimental and theoretical uncertainties. Evaluating chiral symmetry restoration through the use of sum rules

We pursue the idea of assessing chiral restoration via in-medium modifications of hadronic spectral functions of chiral partners. The usefulness of sum rules in this endeavor is illustrated, focusing on the vector/axial-vector channel. We first present an update on obtaining quantitative results for pertinent vacuum spectral functions. These serve as a basis upon which the in-medium spectral fu...

Neural network parametrization of spectral functions from hadronic tau decays and determination of QCD vacuum condensates

The spectral function ρV −A(s) is determined from ALEPH and OPAL data on hadronic tau decays using a neural network parametrization trained to retain the full experimental information on errors, their correlations and chiral sum rules: the DMO sum rule, the first and second Weinberg sum rules and the electromagnetic mass splitting of the pion sum rule. Nonperturbative QCD vacuum condensates can...

Chiral sum rules and their phenomenology.

We present an analysis of four sum rules, each based on chiral symmetry and containing the difference ρV(s) − ρA(s) of isovector vector and axialvector spectral functions. Experimental data from tau lepton decay and electron-positron scattering identify the spectral functions over a limited kinematic domain. We summarize the status of the existing database. However, a successful determination o...

Chiral Sum Rules and Duality in QCD

The ALEPH data on the vector and axial-vector spectral functions, extracted from tau-lepton decays, is used in order to test local and global duality, as well as a set of four QCD chiral sum rules. These are the Das-Mathur-Okubo sum rule, the first and second Weinberg sum rules, and a relation for the electromagnetic pion mass difference. We find these sum rules to be poorly saturated, even whe...

Finite energy chiral sum rules in QCD

The saturation of QCD chiral sum rules of the Weinberg-type is analyzed using ALEPH and OPAL experimental data on the difference between vector and axial-vector correlators (V-A). The sum rules exhibit poor saturation up to current energies below the tau-lepton mass. A remarkable improvement is achieved by introducing integral kernels that vanish at the upper limit of integration. The method is...
